Control which notifications you receive and how they're delivered. Balance staying informed with avoiding notification overload.

Notification Channels

In-App Notifications

Notifications within Securtea:

  • Bell icon in header
  • Badge counts
  • Notification panel
  • Real-time updates

Email Notifications

Emails sent to your registered address:

  • Immediate alerts
  • Digest summaries
  • Action required notices

Compliance Notifications

Alerts about compliance activities:

Configuring Preferences

Access Settings

  1. Go to User Settings > Notifications
  2. See all notification categories
  3. Configure each as needed

Per-Category Settings

For each notification type, choose:

Severity Filtering

For drift notifications:

  • Toggle which severities to receive
  • Critical notifications can be mandatory

Email Settings

Immediate vs Digest

Choose delivery timing:

ImmediateAs events occur
Daily DigestOnce per day
Weekly DigestOnce per week

Digest Configuration

If using digests:

  1. Select Digest option
  2. Choose frequency (daily/weekly)
  3. Set delivery time
  4. Select days (for weekly)

Example: Daily digest at 8:00 AM

Quiet Hours

Suppress non-critical notifications:

  1. Enable Quiet Hours
  2. Set start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
  3. Set end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
  4. Critical alerts still come through

Managing Notifications

Notification Panel

Access in-app notifications:

  1. Click bell icon in header
  2. See unread notifications
  3. Click to view details
  4. Mark as read

Marking as Read

Single notification:

  • Click the notification
  • Or click ✓ icon

All notifications:

  • Click Mark All Read

Notification History

View past notifications:

  1. Click View All in panel
  2. See full notification history
  3. Filter by type or date
  4. Search notifications

Email Management

Unsubscribe

Unsubscribe from email categories:

  • Click link in email footer
  • Or configure in notification settings
  • Or use one-click unsubscribe header

Email Troubleshooting

If you're not receiving emails:

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Verify email address is correct
  3. Check notification settings
  4. Add securtea.io to safe senders
  5. Contact support

Organization Policies

Mandatory Notifications

Your organization may require:

  • Security alerts (always on)
  • Critical drift notifications
  • Compliance alerts

These cannot be disabled by users.

Team Notifications

If you're on teams, you may receive:

  • Team-targeted alerts
  • Assignment notifications
  • Team activity updates

Avoid Overload
