Dashboard Widgets

Widgets are the building blocks of your dashboard. Each widget provides focused insights into a specific aspect of your security posture.

Secure Score Widget

The Secure Score widget displays your Microsoft 365 Secure Score—Microsoft's measurement of your security configuration.

What It Shows

  • Current Score - Your tenant's security score (e.g., 45/80)
  • Percentage - Score as a percentage of maximum achievable
  • Trend Arrow - Direction of change since last update
  • History Graph - Score over the past 30 days

Understanding Secure Score

Microsoft Secure Score evaluates your M365 configuration against security best practices:

80%+Excellent security posture
60-79%Good, with room for improvement
40-59%Moderate risk, action recommended
Below 40%Significant gaps, immediate action needed

Actions

  • View Details - See score breakdown and recommendations
  • Refresh - Fetch latest score from Microsoft

Compliance Summary Widget

Provides an overview of your compliance status across all frameworks.

What It Shows

  • Overall Compliance - Aggregate compliance percentage
  • Framework Bars - Visual progress for each enabled framework
  • Control Counts - Passed, failed, and not applicable controls

Framework Status Colors

Actions

  • View Framework - Click a framework to see detailed results
  • Run Assessment - Start a new compliance assessment

Framework Progress Widget

Shows detailed progress for a specific compliance framework.

What It Shows

  • Framework Name - CIS, NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.
  • Completion Percentage - Controls passed vs. total
  • Theme Breakdown - Progress by control category
  • Last Assessment - When the framework was last evaluated

Customization

Select which framework to display in the widget settings.

Drift Summary Widget

Displays configuration drift events that need attention.

What It Shows

  • Open Events - Total unresolved drift events
  • By Severity - Breakdown of critical, high, medium, low
  • Recent Events - Latest detected changes
  • Trend - Drift frequency over time

Actions

  • View All Events - Go to drift detection page
  • View Critical - Filter to show only critical events

Recent Assessments Widget

Shows your assessment history and results.

What It Shows

  • Assessment List - Recent assessment runs
  • Status - Completed, running, or failed
  • Score Changes - Improvement or regression
  • Timestamps - When each assessment ran

  • View Results - Open detailed assessment report

Quick Actions Widget

  • View Drift Events - Go to drift monitoring

Notifications Widget

Displays recent alerts and system messages.

Widget Interactions

Expanding Widgets

Click the expand icon (↗) on any widget to:

  • View full details
  • Access additional options
  • See historical data

Refreshing Data

Click the refresh icon (↻) to:

  • Fetch latest data from Microsoft APIs
  • Update cached information
  • Check for new events

Widget Settings

Where available, click the gear icon (⚙) to:

  • Choose displayed metrics
  • Set time ranges
  • Configure thresholds

Performance Considerations

Loading Behavior

  • Widgets load independently
  • Critical widgets load first
  • Background refresh doesn't block interaction

Caching

  • Widget data is cached for performance
  • Cache duration varies by data type
  • Manual refresh bypasses cache
