Email Verification

The first step in setting up your Securtea account is verifying your email address. This ensures that only you can access your account.

How It Works

When you sign up or sign in for the first time:

  1. Enter your email address on the login page
  2. Check your inbox for a verification email from Securtea
  3. Enter the 8-digit code from the email
  4. Your email is verified and you can proceed to the next step

The Verification Code

Code Format

The verification code is an 8-digit numeric code that looks like:

12345678

Code Expiration

  • Codes are valid for 30 minutes
  • After expiration, you'll need to request a new code
  • Each new code invalidates any previous codes

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start the Sign-Up Process

Navigate to the Securtea sign-up page and enter your email address.

2. Check Your Email

Look for an email from Securtea with the subject line:

Your Securtea verification code

The email will contain your 8-digit verification code.

3. Enter the Code

Return to the Securtea verification page and enter the 8-digit code exactly as shown in the email.

4. Continue to Organization Setup

Once verified, you'll automatically proceed to the organization setup step.

Troubleshooting

Didn't Receive the Email?

If you haven't received the verification email within 2-3 minutes:

  1. Check spam/junk folders - The email may have been filtered
  2. Verify the email address - Ensure you entered it correctly
  3. Check with IT - Your organization may block external emails
  4. Request a new code - Click "Resend Code" to get a fresh code

Code Expired?

If your code has expired (after 30 minutes):

  1. Return to the verification page
  2. Click Resend Code
  3. Enter the new code from the fresh email

Code Not Working?

If your code isn't being accepted:

  1. Check for typos - The code is 8 digits, no letters
  2. Check the email timestamp - Ensure you're using the most recent code
  3. Copy-paste - Try copying the code directly from the email
  4. Request new code - If problems persist, request a fresh code

Multiple Codes Received?

If you've requested multiple codes, only the most recent code is valid. Previous codes are automatically invalidated.

Why We Verify Email

Email verification protects your account by:

  • Confirming identity - Ensuring you own the email address
  • Preventing unauthorized access - Stopping others from creating accounts with your email
  • Enabling recovery - Allowing password resets and security notifications

Best Practices

  • Don't share codes - Never share your verification code with anyone
  • Verify quickly - Complete verification while the code is fresh
  • Use a secure email - Ensure your email account is properly secured
